Chatpata Sitafal/Spiced Pumpkin Side Dish
Pumpkin a not so favourite of kids. Even i have seen people who doesn't like this. But pumpkin have so many nutritional fact See here and lot of people don't know about that. My mom use to make this yummy sabzi. This is a very quick side dish. There were only few veggies i use to like as kid. My mom tried hard to feed me some nutrition. But i was a total junkie. by the time i grown up i tried and liked few veggies very much. This is one of them . Even you need only few spices to make this tempting dish, Hardly 5-7 min to prepare and 10-15 min to cook. By the time its cooking on stove top you can prepare your fulka or rice to go with it. Within 20-25 min its ready to lay your table for dinner/lunch. Nowadays i have read about baking along pumpkin. Will try something soon. For now i am posting here my mom's and my sis special chatpata sitafal/spicy pumpkin. Try it and enjoy.
Sitafal/Pumpkin- half kg (Fresh not with hard peal)
Raw Mango/Kairy/Ambi - 2 medium
Tomato - 2 medium
Fenugreek seeds/methi dana - 1 tsp (crushed)
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander Pdr - 1/2 tsp
Amchoor - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Chilly pdr - 1 tsp
Salt - as per your taste
Take your ingredients
Cut Onion and Raw Mango length wise
Cut Pumpkin in cubes (small one and half inch pieces)
NO NEED TO PEAL THE SKIN
Heat 2 tbsp oil in kadai
Add coriander, cumin seeds and fenugreek/Methi seeds
Then add tomato, raw mango and mix well
Add all spices one by one
Cover and cook for 5 min
keep stirring in between
Then uncover and cook for 10 min
DONE DONE DONE

- Amchoor is optional. My Kairi was not sour enough so used it.
- All spices are a perfect match, so avoid skipping any.
- You can add green chilly for more spicy version.
