Lemon Ice Tea with Normal Tea

Lemon Ice Tea with Normal Tea
Hi Friends,
After a long hectic day you need something lite and refreshing to freshen you up. which is not complicated to make, don't required fancy ingredients, tasty and healthy. means it could be a cup of tea/coffee/shake etc but sometimes crave for something different. So one fine evening i was feeling same and thought to have ice tea which i use to make with store bought Ice tea packet but this time i was out of stock so thought to make with available ingredients.

I chose normal tea which is always available in any household. I was bit doubtful about the taste as i don't take tea and don't like its taste except masala tea. I went ahead and amazed with the outcome. Which amazed me most was color of the final prepration. I totally loved it. I am the person who can die for the colorful things and if its food then somebody should not dare to think of sharing from me. I made it few times later also. If you want this amazing color then be careful while boiling tea and water, you just need to simmer it and switch off the flame and sieve immediately more you let it on flame more dark color you get. This totally up to you how much dark you need it. Try it and get your color.

Ingredients:-

Water- 2 cups
Tea-1 tsp
Cardamom-2 (optional)
Lemon-1
Honey-2 tsp or as required

Method:-
Grab your Ingredients

Heat water in a pan

Add tea and cardamom seeds

give a boil and switch off the flame

Sieve it

Add honey

squeeze lemon

Mix well and let it cool down

Now take a glass and fill with few ice cubes

Pour cooled tea in it

Garnish with a lemon wedge

See the beautiful color

I love this color

You can also boil water and tea more to get nice dark color like this

Notes:-
  1. You can boil tea as per your preference. If you want tea dominating ice tea then boil it more or one boil is enough.
  2. Adjust honey and lemon as per your taste, add more or less.
  3. If you want to avoid ice then after boiling tea cool it and keep it in fridge to enjoy chilled ice tea.

Oats and Puffed Rice Bars with peanut-butter and Honey Murmura and Oats Bar

Oats & Puffed Rice Bars with peanut-butter and Honey/
Murmura and Oats Bar
Hi Friends,
One more healthy bar (skip oil) in the list. Few days back i bought a huge box of oats to add in my food. But very much not willing to make porridge and making idlis or  was not an easy affair for me as my grinder is not working. So it kept on laying for one week. Secondly yesterday my son called me up while i was in office and said-Mom i am hungry. You made nothing for us. I gave him endless list of things laying in the pantry but he said no i don't want to have this and that. I become so restless at office and decide to make something to munch upon if kids feel hungry. I started searching for easy and healthy recipes as i get very less time after reaching home.
First thing which caught my attention was murmura and oats bar at Aarthis' space. As both things were laying in the pantry i decide to make them at night. After finishing dinner i made these bars. It hardly took 5-7 minutes to make these bars but required resting time was almost 2 hours in fridge. So i decided to cut them in the morning. I kept it whole night in the fridge. In the morning after preparing kids for school i took it out and started cutting the piece,as soon as i took out one piece my son grabbed it from my hands and started munching. I told them that this is for both of you only have patience, but who was listening all that. They asked me to pack few pieces in there lunch box and put rest of them in fridge then i said what about me? My son said OK YOU CAN HAVE ONE :). Thanks kids for letting me try one :). I think it can also be made without oil. Will try next time. Till then try it guys.

Ingredients:-
Oats- 1cup

Notes:-
  1. You can add any dried fruits, dry fruits, seeds in it as per your choice.
  2. You can choose sugar instead of honey if you are not health conscious and don't mind sugar in your food.
  3. After making it, baking for 5 minutes will make it more crispier.
  4. You can easily skip peanut butter and make it with just oil and honey. My kids love peanut butter so that i added it.
  5. Keep them in fridge for crunchiness.
  6. I think we can also make it without oil also. Please let me know the results if anybody tried it.

So started looking for recipes and available ingredients and opted oats with fruits. To sweeten it up i chose honey instead of refined sugar. After  15 minutes i was back with a bowl full of goodness. It is a quick and healthy option for all those busy ladies rushing towards their offices or housewives who need to indulge in something healthy to keep there self fit and fine. Try it guys you will end up making it every week.

Milk - 2 cups
Fruits (any of your favorite) - 3 tbsp
I used 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp grapes, 1 tbsp strawberry

Add oats and cook for 5 minutes

It will be ready to use within 5 minutes

All cooked

Take it in bowl and cool it a bit

Now add honey

Mix well

Now add your colorful fruits

Mix them well

Your healthy breakfast is ready

Serve in a bowl and garnish with more fruits

and honey

ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Notes:-

  1. You can use jeggary instead of honey to sweetened it up.
  2. Choose your favorite fruits or opt for nuts, seeds, dry fruits etc.
  3. Make it thick or thin according to your choice. For more thinner consistency add more milk in it.
