Moong Sprout Sandwich/ Healthy Sandwich/ Healthy Breakfast

Moong Sprout Sandwich/
Healthy Sandwich/
Healthy Breakfast
Hi Friends,
One more healthy recipe. Everybody knows that sprouts are healthy. So i thought to add this in sandwich. It came out so crispy and tasty. I have used white bread as i was only having it on my shelf. Use multigrain/brown bread to make it super healthy.

You can have this sandwich in breakfast or as snacks in the evening. Its also a very easy and quick recipe. I made it for my kids breakfast. It was very easy to prepare everything and putting sandwich in bread and helping kids to get ready for school. I feel its a breeze to make them in the breakfast in the morning rush hours. My kids liked them a lot. Hope you will like them too.

Ingredients:-

Bread (white/brown/multigrain)- 6 slices
Sprouts-1 tbsp
boiled potato- 2 medium
Onion- chopped 1 tbsp
ghee/butter- 1 tbsp
salt- as per your taste
chilly powder- 1/2 optional
tomato sauce- 2 tsp

Method:-
Take all your ingredients

Take onion+potato+sprouts in a bowl and mix them together

Add salt+chilly powder and mix well

and finally add tomato sauce and mix

Take a slice of bread

apply ghee/butter on it

take a generous amount of sprouts mix and spread evenly

cover with another bread and apply ghee/butter

Brush your sandwich maker with some butter/ghee/oil

place your sandwiches

close it

Done within a minute

Enjoy

CRISPY AND TASTY SANDWICHES ARE READY TO SERVE

Notes:-

  1. Use multigrain/brown bread for more healthier version.
  2. You can skip onion if you dont like it. You can add any of your favorite veggie like carrot/cabbage etc to make it more healthy.
  3. You can skip tomato sauce mixing in the mix. But it will provide a good moisture and flavor to the sandwich.
Hope you will like it

Peanut Pulao with Sambar Powder/ Moongfali wala Pulao

Peanut Pulao with Sambar Powder/
Moongfali ka Pulao
Hi Friends,
Earlier for me peanuts were just a snack available in packet in the form of peanut masala/cracker. I never tried them in cooking. It is only after entering in blogging world first time i bought raw peanuts and used in the cooking. Initially i become addicted to roasted peanuts and but few months back i heard about the boiled peanuts and now i liked them in pulao very much, in any kind of pulao i add them. I love this combo. So yesterday i thought to make peanut pulao and everyone loved it so much,  that my sister once who took it for lunch, again requested to make it for her colleagues. It was liked and loved by all.

Ingredients:-

Rice- 1 cup heaped (soaked  for 15-20 minutes)
Peanuts- 3 tbsp (you can roast them and peel the skin. i used with skin)
Potato- 1 medium chopped in small cubes
Onion- 1 medium chopped lengthwise
Tomato- 1 medium chopped lengthwise
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Sambar powder- 2 tsp heaped
Cooking Oil-1tbsp
Salt- as per your taste

Method:-
Take all your ingredients

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai

Crackle cumin seeds

add chopped potato

let them turn brown a bit

add chopped onion

saute for few seconds

then throw in tomato

saute for few seconds

now add main ingredient my favorite peanuts

mix well

now soaked rice

mix well

spice them up with salt and sambar masala

mix well

cover and cook for one minute

open

add water approximate 3 cups

boil and let them cook

done in 15 minutes

ready to serve

Notes:-
  1. You can increase or decrease the quantity of any ingredient you want.
  2. You can make this pulao without onion and tomato also.
  3. If you wish you can add 1 tsp chopped ginger and 1 tsp chopped garlic in it.
  4. Sambar Powder will give a unique taste in it. So i don't recommend to skip it.
Hope you will like it

Mix Veg Savory Cake/ Tea Time Snacks/ Kids Special

Mix Veg Savory Cake/
Tea Time Snacks/
Kids Special
Hi Friends,
In these chilling days and frozen nights what we all need is some piping hot coffee and something to munch with it. Cake is not always a good idea as some times hot savory snack do the trick. On a chilling evening i was craving to bake something and i was totally  confused that what should i bake? Firstly i though to bake a chocolate cake then i thought its vry regular in my home sooooo why not a savory cake. Yes a savory cake. I immediately made list of ingredients (in my mind) and searched for the available ingredients and came delighted to know that i was having each and everything i was looking for.

Please don't scared with the ingredients list as it seems very long but believe me most of the ingredients are available in any home bakers home. I went ahead with my imagination but the most difficult part was baking it. As i was doing everything by my own imagination it was the part where my imagination went wrong. Normally my cakes take hardly 30-35 minutes but this cake done in 50 minutes (why? even i don't know). Here are some points which i mentioned in my notes section. If you want to try this cake then pls read notes carefully. You can enjoy this cake warm or cold any way you like.

Ingredients:-
Wheat Flour or APF - 1.5 Cups
Baking Powder-1 tsp
Baking Soda- 1 tsp

Turmeric Pdr- 1/4 tsp (optional)
Hot Water- as needed ( i used 1.5 glass)

Hot savory Cake

see the texture

sorry picture is not clear

Notes:-

  1. For more airy and spongy cake you can use maida/APF instead of wheat or multi grain flour. My cake was bit dense.
  2. Veggies like peas/ mushroom are purely optional, you can add any of your favorite veggie like carrot etc.
  3. You can add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilly as per your liking.
  4. Don't overcook veggies, we just have to saute them a bit.
  5. You can add 3/4 cup of curd to make it more spongy and airy.
  6. Turmeric is purely optional as i want my cake bit yellowish i used it. You can skip it.
  7. You can use sesame seeds instead of pumpkin seeds. I used it to give it a crunch. Or you can skip both of things and make it plain.
Hope you will like it
