Chocolate Pancakes/ Kids Special

Chocolate Pancakes/
Kids Special
Hi Friends,
After a long time i am back with something sweet and chocolaty to cover up my absence as chocolate is so addictive and so are these pancakes that people will forget that i was away from my blog. I made these pancakes for my kids as sweet/dessert after dinner (sound strange?). They loved it very much. I served it with chocolate and chopped banana. You can have it anytime of the day. You can have it with tea/coffee/milk/chopped fruits/jam/dips etc. I love it with simple coffee. Try it guys and tell me the results.

Ingredients:-
Whole wheat flour- 2 cups
Coco pdr- 2 tbsp
Baking soda-2 pinch
Sugar-1 tbsp
Oil/butter- 1 tbsp

Method:-
Take all your ingredients

Add flour and sugar

Coco pdr+baking soda

mix well

Add water and make a smooth batter

Add vanilla essence and mix well

BATTER IS READY

heat a tawa and pour a ladle full of batter on it

cook from both sides
(don't overcook as because of coco pdr it may become bitter)

Serve with anything you like

I served it with some chocolate and chopped banana slices
Notes:-
  1. You can increase the coco pdr and decrease sugar for more chocolaty pancakes.
  2. You can use butter/oil/ghee for cooking pancakes or you can make them without all these too.
  3. You can serve it with any of your favorite fruit/sweet dip/jam etc. But i use to take it with chopped banana and chocolate (at room temperature-not runny kind of).
Hope you will like it

Sooji ka Cheela/ Semolina Pancake

Sooji ka Cheela/
Semolina Pancake
Hi Friends,
I feel so glad when i see my dosa in shape and up to the mark. Still i am not able to make crisp dosas  like we get in restaurants. i tried several times but always failed. Don't know the exact reason behind that. My dosa always stick to the pan and never as thin as required. So i satisfy myself by making this kind of cheela/dosa. But i always keep trying for the best crisp dosas. I was so happy while i was making these dosas as they were so quick & easy to make and healthy too. My family loved it specifically kids asks for more and more.
Now these become my rescuer in bad times. Like i soak sooji for 1 hour and keep it in fridge and use it within 2-3 days whenever sudden hunger pangs or even full meal for my kids. You know my kids take it as it is or some times apply a thin layer of tomato sauce on it roll it and they are done. How easy na?. Now use to make them very often. They also like to have it in their lunch boxes and it remains soft for long time. You can enjoy it with any side or chatni. Or like me, i enjoy it simple with coffee without any side dish. Make it and enjoy it guys. I am sure your family will love it.

Ingredients:-

Sooji- 1 cup
Cumin Seeds-1/2 tsp
Mustered Seeds- 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- few
salt-as per your taste

Method:-
Ingredients

Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadai

crackle cumin seeds in it

throw in mustered seeds

then curry leaves

Add this temparing in soaked sooji

Mix well and add water to adjust the consistancy

Heat a tawa and spread a ladle full of batter on it

turn and cook both sides

Ready to serve

I served it with simple potato sabzi

YUM YUM

OR SERVED IT LIKE DOSA

Lentil and Semolina Pancake/ Daal aur Sooji ka Dosa/ Healthy Breakfast/ Protein Packed Dosa

Lentil and Semolina Pancake/
Daal aur Sooji ka Dosa/
 Healthy Breakfast/
Protein Packed Dosa

Hi Friends,
These are really horrible days. Temperature is almost 47 degree Celsius at most of the places. Viral fever and so many kind of flu are making things more worst. Eating healthy, staying hydrate and hygiene are the most important things nowadays. people prefer food which is less oily, more healthy, more hygienic and less spicy. I am searching more and more recipes to keep my fuzzy eater kids happy by trying new healthy dishes. Everybody knows Nutritional Value of LentilsSince long i wanted to make these lentil pancakes but don't know why i always felt that dosa will stick to pan and become a mess and in this hot summer i can't afford failures and can't stay in kitchen to do more experiments. So kept postponing it.
Few days back my sis gave me these pancakes which she made for breakfast. I was amazed with the taste and texture. After eating some i came back home with the determination to try them as soon as possible and in the morning i soaked lentils and sooji/rava. At night when dinner was over i grinded 1 tbsp of lentils and sooji and made three pancakes as trail, so that in case of failure i can make a backup plan for morning breakfast. But it came out so tasty and it was so easy to make them. My son and daughter ate them and after five minutes my son came running for more pancakes. Somehow I convinced him that i will made more for breakfast.
In the morning i made lots of pancakes for them. You can have them with any side dish, sauce/chatni, milk, tea etc. Choice is up to you. If your kids don't take lentils then these pancakes are for you. You can have them in breakfast, dinner, lunch or evening as snacks.  choice is up to you.

Ingredients:-
Daal/Lentils - 1 cup (use mixed lentils of your coice, i used masoor daal+chana daal)
Sooji - 1/2 cup
Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
Coriander Seeds- 1 tsp
Turmeric pdr- 1/2 tsp (optional)
Red chilly pdr- 1/2 tsp
Salt- as per your taste

Method:-
Soak daal for minimum six hours
Soak sooji for minimum 1 hours
(i soaked both overnight)

Spices

Take daals/lentils and all spies in a grinder
(use little water if there is problem in grinding)

now put in soaked sooji

Grind it

Take it out in a bowl

Pour a ladle full of batter and spread it like dosa

soon it will be cooked

now turn and cook for few seconds

Your DOSA is ready to be served

I served it with Paneer bhurji (recipe coming soon)

Notes:-

  1. You can use any lentils to make these pancakes. I used gram/chana daal and masoor daal.
  2. Soaking lentils for 5-6 hours is important. I soaked them overnight to make pancakes in the morning breakfast.
  3. Soak sooji for minimum one hours is necessary but i soaked it overnight with lentils.
  4. Soak sooji in almost double water as it will fluff up.
  5. Don't drain extra water used for soaking. it can be used to grind the lentil and sooji.
  6. Use your favorite spices to add in this, you can add green chilly or any other boiled vegetable to make it more healthy.
  7. You can grind boiled or raw vegetable with the lentils or add in the batter. I made them plain as it was first time so didn't wanted to do more experiments.
  8. You can serve it with any side dish, chatni/sauce, tea, coffe or even with milk.
