Lentil and Semolina Pancake/
Daal aur Sooji ka Dosa/
 Healthy Breakfast/
Protein Packed Dosa

Hi Friends,
These are really horrible days. Temperature is almost 47 degree Celsius at most of the places. Viral fever and so many kind of flu are making things more worst. Eating healthy, staying hydrate and hygiene are the most important things nowadays. people prefer food which is less oily, more healthy, more hygienic and less spicy. I am searching more and more recipes to keep my fuzzy eater kids happy by trying new healthy dishes. Everybody knows Nutritional Value of LentilsSince long i wanted to make these lentil pancakes but don't know why i always felt that dosa will stick to pan and become a mess and in this hot summer i can't afford failures and can't stay in kitchen to do more experiments. So kept postponing it.
Few days back my sis gave me these pancakes which she made for breakfast. I was amazed with the taste and texture. After eating some i came back home with the determination to try them as soon as possible and in the morning i soaked lentils and sooji/rava. At night when dinner was over i grinded 1 tbsp of lentils and sooji and made three pancakes as trail, so that in case of failure i can make a backup plan for morning breakfast. But it came out so tasty and it was so easy to make them. My son and daughter ate them and after five minutes my son came running for more pancakes. Somehow I convinced him that i will made more for breakfast.
In the morning i made lots of pancakes for them. You can have them with any side dish, sauce/chatni, milk, tea etc. Choice is up to you. If your kids don't take lentils then these pancakes are for you. You can have them in breakfast, dinner, lunch or evening as snacks.  choice is up to you.

Notes:-

  1. You can use any lentils to make these pancakes. I used gram/chana daal and masoor daal.
  2. Soaking lentils for 5-6 hours is important. I soaked them overnight to make pancakes in the morning breakfast.
  3. Soak sooji for minimum one hours is necessary but i soaked it overnight with lentils.
  4. Soak sooji in almost double water as it will fluff up.
  5. Don't drain extra water used for soaking. it can be used to grind the lentil and sooji.
  6. Use your favorite spices to add in this, you can add green chilly or any other boiled vegetable to make it more healthy.
  7. You can grind boiled or raw vegetable with the lentils or add in the batter. I made them plain as it was first time so didn't wanted to do more experiments.
  8. You can serve it with any side dish, chatni/sauce, tea, coffe or even with milk.

Pancakes with Leftover Khichadi

Pancakes with Leftover Khichadi/
Leftover Recipe
Hi Friends,
Its again raining in the Delhi. Few days back people were roaming in cotton clothes bidding goodbye to woolens forgetting that changing weather is the most sensitive time when people tend to caught in the fever, cold, cough, sour throat etc,. Suddenly mother Nature changed its plan to remind them that its not the time yet to roam in light cotton clothes, its time to follow precaution and cure yourself. Delhi once again drenched in heavy showers and people again covered themselves in cozy woolens. I also suffering from sour throat. I try to take heavy food in the afternoon and dinner as light as possible.
I made Khichadi with Moong Daal. My son who is not feeling well refused to have that and his health was not allowing to give him something else. I kept on thinking that how should i convince him that his digestion system will not allow any fancy food. I just went into the kitchen with the bowl of khichadi suddenly i reminded one recipe in which cooked rice were used to make pancakes. My eyes brightened with the idea-KHICHADI PANCAKES. I started gathering ingredients. I used multi grain flour to use as binder. I was not sure about the outcome so made batter only for 1 pancake and amazed with the result. Can you believe after tasting that pancake i used my khichadi also and made pancakes for myself. It was such a delicious pancakes. Guess how many my son ate? total 4 :) . I was so happy. Even my daughter and hubby (who already had dinner) had 4 of them. This is a excellent idea to use leftover khichadi. Try it guys these are too delicious and healthy pancakes. These are  crunchy from inside and crispy from outside. Have it as breakfast, brunch, dinner or as snacks. Hope you will like them.

Kaali Masoor Daal Parantha

Kaali Masoor Daal Parantha/Lentil Pancake/
Leftover Masoor Daal Parantha
Hi Friends,
I love lentils. One reason is they are full of nutrition and second reason is i am a working mother, so get very less time to spent in the kitchen. Lentils are such a breeze to make. You do not need to grind or prepare so much for them. If you do not have time or out of some basic TADKA ingredients such onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, It can be so delicious without adding all that stuff, just bit cumin seeds, salt and chilly, that's all you need. I also love lentil parantha, so leftover Daal/Lentil is not a problem for me. Even i make more daal to make paranthas in the morning.
I am never worried if my kids do not eats lentils as i make parantha out of them and serve with some side dish or just apply sauce, roll and give them with a glass of milk, How easy, Right? So i am here with Black masoor daal recipe which is one of my favorite lentil. Its full of nutrition's and no regrets if kids leave lentil in their bowl. I will serve them another way.

Ingredients:-
Masoor Daal  - 2 cups
Wheat Flour   - 3 cups (or as needed)

Method:-
Take your ingredients

Mix them and make dough out of it
Take lemon size ball out of this and make a flat disk

Heat a griddle or Tawa apply oil on the rolled Parantha/Pancake and cook from both sides

DONE

Serve with your favorite side dish and pack some for kids tiffin

Notes:-
  1. You can use leftover daal for this or just boil daal fir your favorite spices and use.
  2. Add water and flour as need if daal is less add water in that to increase the quantity.
  3. You can add red chilly powder or black pepper powder for more spicier version.
  4. Serve it with any side dish like curd raita or simply with any chatni/sauce. I served it with soya chunk masala.
