Broken Wheat Sweet Upma/
Sweet DaliaHi Friends,
I was thinking to make it from last few months but never get a chance as nobody likes it at my in-laws house. But this was every second day affair in my mom's house. My mom and sis makes it so quickly and yum. After my marriage I made it few times but here everybody likes its savory form. So i avoided to make it. but since few days i was craving for it so badly. So i was just waiting for the right time and that i got when yesterday my daughter said in the evening-mom i am hungry.
I immediately started preparing it as i was more hungry then her :). It took me hardly 10-15 minutes to prepare it. As soon as i have done with it, my kids kept on gazing the plate to grab it and waited impatiently while i was taking shots. They like it but not that much (again i am alone and lazy to make it) but i ate it with my whole heart reminding about the dalia made by my sis and mom. Next time i will try variation with milk. Hoping that kids will also relish it as i do. You can make it for breakfast also to break the monotony of savory upma or enjoy it in the evening to suppress hunger pangs.

- Frying dalia in 1 tsp ghee/oil is absolutely optional. you can directly mix dalia and water and proceed with the procedure.
- You can add 1 cup more water in it and can make it in liquid form. But i like it dry.
- You can add honey instead of sugar in it to make it more healthy.
- Add any dry fruit of your choice.
- Serve hot for best taste.
