Instant Strawberries spread/ Quick strawberries Jam/ Strawberries Caulis

Instant Strawberry spread/
Quick strawberry Jam/
Strawberries Coulis
Hi Friends,
You can call it anything. As its similar to all these things like jam/caulis/spread. Its a instant accompaniment to jazz up your simple roti, bread or some cake or pudding. If you or your kid are a strawberry fan then you will love it. Red color of this spread looks awesome and adds color to a simple boring dish. Like i got bored to give my kids same chapati roll smeared with tomato sauce and potato or any other veggie.

When i made this my son saw the color and said mammy color is very yummy :) . I have seen this caulis recipe in so many blogs and wanted to try it. I tried it with my own instinct and result was awesome. Its a very good option to your regular mix/pinapple jam /orange marmalade. I put this as chapati roll in my kids box to have it after lunch as sweet. I made a small chapati to make roll. You can pack them as wrap also to have it in lunch. So choice is yours.

Ingredients:-

Strawberries-10 big or 1 cup chopped
Sugar- 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice- 1 tsp optional see notes

Method:-
Take some red juicy strawberries

clean and wash them properly

Now all you need is chopped strawberries + sugar

add sugar in chopped strawberries

mix them well and cover and leave for 5 minutes

after 5-7 minutes see how they leached out juice

now put them in a pan and start heating

it will start boiling

let it boil on medium heat

and boil

see now its thickening

almost done

DONE
It will become more thick after cooling down

READY TO USE

I LOVE ITS COLOUR

I had it with strawberry pudding cake (recipe soon)
combo was heavenly

or use it as spread on bread/roti

i made this chapati roll for kids breakfast

Notes:-

  1. For more faster method make puree of strawberries and proceed with the method. But i like it bit chunky with some strawberry tit bits so chopped them in small size. So choice is totally  up to you.
  2. You can let the strawberries marinate for 5 to 15 minutes or even in hurry you can skip this. So this step is optional but highly recommended.
  3. You can adjust the sweetness of this coulis/jam/spread according to your liking.
  4. Add more sugar if strawberries are sour and you want to hide that taste.
  5. If you want sour taste and strawberries are sweet not tart then add 1 tsp lemon juice after it cools down.
Hope you will like it

Barfi with Condense Milk and Drinking Chocolate Powder/ Milkmaid-Condense Milk Barfi/ Indian Sweets

Barfi with Condense Milk and Drinking Chocolate Powder/
Milkmaid-Condense Milk Barfi/
Indian Sweets
Hi Friends,
I know i am very irregular these days. But you know its not like i don't get time to cook. Its all just about willingness to stay from  everything but i hope i will come again on track soon.
I want to try most of the Indian Sweets like barfi, ladoo at home. But these both things require some practice to get the right consistency of roasting and quantity of ingredients, consistency of sugar syrup and lot of things, but once you get the idea, then making these sweets are a breeze. I haven't got that perfection yet so always search for a easy recipe. I was having a milkmaid tin laying on my shelf. After searching so many sites for a easy recipe i bookmarked a coco barfi which required hardly any ingredients. But coco powder was not in my stock so i used drinking chocolate powder. It came out good. It is sweet with sweeter side so if you are not a big fan of too much sweet then use coco powder of dark chocolate powder to adjust the sweetness. Else it hardly need any kind of perfection or require any skill to make that. So go ahead and try it.

Ingredients:-
Milkmaid/Condense Milk- 1 cup
Coco Powder/Drinking Chocolate Powder- 1 tbsp
Almonds- 1 tbsp
Ghee- 2 tsp melted

Method:-
Take all your ingredients

Melt ghee in a pan

add condense milk/milkmaid

mix them well and

it will start thickening

keep it stirring contentiously else it will burn easily

keep an eye on thickness
see its thick enough

add chocolate/coco powder

mix well and keep stirring

add chopped almonds

its done

pour it in greased tray

After fully setting

mark lines

as per your preferred size

ready to serve
don't be impatient like me, let it set completely
Notes:-
  1. You use more coco powder or drinking chocolate powder for more chocolaty flavor.
  2. It will be bit sticky but don't worry you will love it that way.
  3. Keep it stirring in all the process else it will burn easily.
  4. You can add any of the dry fruit you like.
  5. You can make it without ghee also but ghee will give a shiny texture and nice aroma to this burfi.
  6. Before cutting pieces let it set completely for few hours.
Hope you will like it

Ajwain Triangle Parantha/
Ajwain Parantha/
Flat Bread with Carom Seeds

Hi Friends,
Who don't like piping hot paranthas. Paranthas are always welcome and a unavoidable breakfast in Northern Indian families. Stuffed paranthas are a real treat on bone chilling mornings. But sometimes putting efforts to make stuffed paranthas take back gear so this kind of ajwain paranthas comes for the rescue. You can make this parantha on a busy morning and relish with anything you like. This is so easy and takes very less time to make. A big hit in my house as i can make them any day.

You can make them with ghee or butter or even with vegetable oil. I make paranthas for me and my mother with vegetable oil as it has less calories then ghee (clarified butter). You can make them in round or square shapes also. But this shape in bit different and kids enjoy it a lot. So i prefer making them triangle. Ajwain/carom seeds are also good for health specially in winters so it plays duel role to flavor the parantha with medicinal touch to our health. So friends make it and enjoy winter mornings.

 tempting parantha is almost done

 ready to serve

hum yummyyyyyyyyyy

Notes:-

  1. You can use wheat flour dough or multi grain flour dough as per your choice.
  2. You can use ghee or vegetable oil for frying the parantha. Most of the time i use ghee for kids and vegetable oil for myself.
  3. Adjust salt and carom seeds as per your liking. Increase or decrease any ingredients.
