Lunch Box Idea
Hi Friends,
I tried rava/sooji upma so many times but never succeeded. Taste was always good but it was like eating namkeen halwa. Few days my father was admitted to the hospital, he was down with Dengue so in breakfast they mostly served upma/Poha etc as they were supposed to have lite food. Now he is back to home and asked me to make Upma. I was so confused that how should i say that i cant make it perfectly. So without replying to him i made poha and served. He said i asked for poha and i said Dad-i will make it tomorrow as i am in hurry and it will take time to make upma. He said Ok. Yesterday i goggles so many sites and noted down some points to remember for making fluffy upma.
Today morning i set to prepare it. I was preparing it patiently so that i can get fluffy upma as i had at so many restaurants. My good luck was there that it came out perfect. Pictures may not speak that much as i took it in hurry. But the taste and texture was perfect. My kids enjoyed it with tomato sauce. There are few points i mentioned in the notes which needs to remember for making fluffy upma. So beginners try it and enjoy it without any fear of failure.

Ingredients:-
Rava/Sooji/Semolina-1 cups
Peanuts- 1-2 tsp
Onion-1 tbsp chopped finely
Mustered Seeds-1 tsp
Ghee/Oil-1 tbsp
Water- 2 cups
Salt-As per your taste

Method:-
Take all your ingredients

Dry roast rave on slow flame for 2 minutes

raw smell will come when its done

dry roast peanuts also
you can add one tsp oil also

Add 2 tsp oil in kadai/pan

splutter mustered seeds

add chopped onion

saute for few seconds

add roasted sooji/rava

mix well

 Add salt

Mix well cover and cook for one minutes

Uncover and add oil and roasted peanuts

Mix well and keep on stirring

within a minutes it will be ready

Fluff it up with fork

SERVE

Notes:-
  1. Dry roasting rava/sooji is necessary part.
  2. Adding oil/ghee later will give you smooth fluffy taxture.
  3. After adding water it will start spluttering so be careful, cover and cook for one minutes.
  4. After adding oil and peanuts keep on stirring otherwise it will stick to bottom and get burn easily.
  5. You can add any of your favorite veggie in it to make it more healthy.
  6. You can add roasted gram dal instead of peanuts or skip both of them.
  7. You can add green chilly or red chilly pdr to spice it up. I skipped both as it was for my recovering dad and kids.

Hope you will like it
Love
