Semiya/Vermicelli Dessert

Semiya Payasam/Vermicelli Dessert/
Semiya Kheer
Hi Friends,
This kheer is very much known to most of the Indian households. This is a evergreen dish. You can have it in any season. There are so many verity of it sweet/savory/milky/dry But at my home only milk version is accepted. Before marriage my mom use to make this, and i also use to make savory version and liked that very much, after marriage stopped making that as nobody likes it here, Nowadays  i am feeling that I should try few savory versions. May be somebody likes it and i had a company to share.
When it comes for favorite version then that's Milk version(Kheer). You can have it cold or hot. My husband likes it cold and me both heheheh. Cold kheer is more creamier. You can enjoy cold version in summers and hot version in winters and monsoon. Choice is yours guys. Enjoy as per your wish. My kids love it very much and hubby too. Its so quick to make as it took hardly 10 min to make it.
Ingredients:-
Vermicelly           - 1 cup
Ghee/Butter/Oil   - 1tbsp
Sugar                   - 2 tbsp (as per your taste)
Water                  - 3 cups
Milk                    - 2 cups
Yellow Colour    - a pinch (optional)
Dry Fruits           - 1 tbsp (optional )

Recipe:-
Take your ingredients

Heat oil in kadai or pan

Throw vermicelli in it ans start frying(keep the flame on low)
Keep it stirring quickly and let it brown

I do not like to brown it too much (you can make it more brwon )

Add 2 cups of water

Give it a good boil and reduce to half quantity,
will take hardly 2-3 min

Add yellow color and mix well

Add milk and again boil it on high flame

within 2-3 minutes you will see it thickening
(watch it as it may overflow)

Add Sugar

Boil again

DONE

SERVE

 Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
ENJOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Notes:-
  1. Quantity of water and milk is just perfect for consistency. You can adjust it for thinner or thick version.
  2. You can add cardamom powder for more flavorful dessert.
  3. To serve it cold, after cooking cool it completely and put in fridge for 1 or more hours.
  4. Adding color is optional. I added it for more you can avoid it.
HOPE YOU WILL LIKE IT
