KUTTU KE ATAY KA DOSA/ PANCAKE WITH BUCKWHEAT FLOUR

KUTTU KE ATAY KA DOSA/
PANCAKE WITH BUCKWHEAT FLOUR/
NAVARATRI SPECIAL
Hi Friends,
I know Navaratri is gone last week. This recipe is from my draft. I wanted to post it as it was an experiment which came out so well.
I am not a fasting person. But my dear hubby always perform all nine fasts. So i always try to make something different and healthy for him as he avoids fried like kuttu poori, Fried potato chaat etc. Last Navaratri i tried kuttu ke dahi bhalle, Spicy Dahi Aloo, Snacks for navaratri and also made Makhana KheerSinghada barfi, Saawak ki kheer etc. But this time i wanted to make something new which i have never tried. My hubby asked to make something oil less and he was already had fruit chat in the afternoon and curd raita in the evening. I made Chocolate Pancakes for kids dinner (recipe coming soon), so thought why not Kuttu flour pancakes, wow kuttu ke atay ka dosa. I immediately whipped the batter and made these pancakes, took curd spiced it and served. He was amazed when i served this combo. Its also a very good way to use leftover kuttu flour after Navaratri. Try it guys you will love it.

Ingredients:-
Kuttu Atta- 1 cup
Salt- as per your taste
Red chilly powder- as per your taste (see notes)
Oil- 2 tsp (for drizzling)

Method:-

Ingredients

Mix 1 tbsp flour and 1/4 tsp salt and add few tablespoon of water to make batter
(don't make all batter at once as it will stat sticking)

Add few drops of oil and heat non stick tawa

Pour a ladle full of batter

Cook from other side also

Ready to serve

SERVE

Notes:-
  1. You can add red chilly powder or green chilly chopped finally  but i was suppose to serve it with spiced curd so didn't added any spice in it.
  2. You may need to add more water after every 2 minutes as this flour soak so much water, so add more salt every time you add water.
  3. It is advisable to make batter for single pancake at a time as soon as you pour the batter on tawa, start mixing batter for another pancake as this batter become sticky after few minutes.

Notes:-
  1. Be quick while adding flour in potato mix as it starts leave water, so keep you kadai ready with hot oil and after adding flour to potato shape them as vada and fry them as soon as possible.
  2. If you feel vada is cracking or spreading in oil then wrap vada in flour and fry.
  3. If you feel mix become watery then add more flour and be quick to process.
  4. After frying vada, cool them before adding to curd.
  5. You acn add your favorite spices in curd and vada also.
  6. Skip chilly (both red and green) if making for kids.
  7. Be careful while frying vadas, it will sizzle a lot.
  8. I made curd first and put it in fridge as my husband like it chilled, you can bhalla first and then make curd.
