Poha/ Beaten Rice Snack
Hi Friends,
Poha a not very common thing for me. I do not like the version available in the market, very rarely i go for this dish. I tried few of its version at home but not satisfied with the outcome. This time i made some changes and liked the taste very much. It was crunchy, bit spicy and very satisfying. I like the aroma while i finished cooking part. Add whatever you like in it or just make simple.
Ingredients:-
Poha - 2 cups
Peanuts - 1 cup
Potato - 1 large (cut in small pieces)
Onion - 1 large (cut in small pieces)
Tomato - 1 large (cut in small pieces)
Curry Patta - 4-5
Lemon - 1
Chat Masala - 1 tsp
Garam Masal - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Method:-
Take your ingredients
Take poha in a colander and run water over it and leave aside
Dry roast your peanuts in a pan or oven
Now heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and throw your potato in it.
Let them turn bit brown (within 2-3 min it will be done)
Now add onion and tomato
Mix Well and add Curry Patta
After 1 min add poha in it
Add peanuts
Add all spices and mix well
Now sprinkle 1 tbsp water in it, cover and cook for 30 seconds

Notes:-
- You can add turmeric (haldi) for yellow color poha which is served in the market. I do not like that color.
- Adding potato, onion, tomato is purely optional. I like tit bit bites in it so i used them. You can avoid anything you don't like.
