SIMPLE ALOO TIKKI

(linking to 2 events-check below)

Hi Friends,

In Indian cultures CHAT is a very much famous snack. And ALLO TIKKI is one of them. You don't need to find stalls of Aloo Chat, Aloo Tikki, anywhere in India. You will find it in every corner, very street in different forms. My kids often ask for Aloo tikki, in burger or chat or simple tikki form. So after thinking so much and many failures I started making it at home (tips in notes section).

Most of the time I make them simple and make burgers with them. I never fried my tikkies. I always simply bake them on non stick tawa with minimum oil. You can also make tikki and freez them in airtight container. (see notes) So here is the recipe of Aloo Tikki.

INGREDIENTS:-
Boiled Potato     - 2-3 medium
Onion                 - 1 medium (finally chopped)
Salt                     - as per your taste
Crushed             - 1-2 tsp coriander
Paper Powder    - as per your taste

Method:-
Take your ingredients

Mash potato and spices

Add chopped onion

Mix Well

take a lemon size mix and shape them as per your wish
 (see notes)

I made some heart shape (u can guess for whom) and some round

Heat a non stick tawa and sprinkle some oil in it

Place your tikkies on it

 Cook fry form both sides

Tikkies are ready to serve

Enjoy as it is with sauce or chatni

 OR Make Burger

USE AS PER YOUR WISH

Notes:-
  1. After boiling potato  immediately take them out  from water and let them cool completely. after that if you have time then before peeling put them in airtight box and place in fridge (not in ice compatment). for 15 minutes to 2-3 hours. take out and peel. this way they will not need anything to make a firm mix.
  2. If you feel your tikkies are cracking while frying, dip them in corn flour and water mix (mix corn flour and water and make a very thin paste).
  3. You can simply roll them in corn flour or in bread crumbs.
  4. Add spices (chilly, chat masala etc.) as per your wish
  5. You can shellow fry them on tawa like we see on stalls.
  6. You can make tikkies and store in air tight container in fridge. Take them out and fry when you need them.
