Aloo ka Raita/ Curd with potato/ Navaratri Special

Aloo ka Raita/
Curd with potato/
Navaratri Special
Hi Friends,
Hope you all are doing fine. Day by day Delhi becomes hotter and hotter. I am least in mood to cook food in the kitchen. These days we enjoy Shakes, salads, Popsicle etc. to beat the heat. Even for dinners and lunch we prefer one pot meals like raita, salad etc. Most of the times i make mix veg raita as you just have to take whatever veggie in your hand, cut and add in curd add spices and you are done with it. But i personally like this potato raita. It has unique taste.
So may times i whipped this raita for my hubby who was on fast for all nine days in Navaratri. You can have it as it is or along with Rice, pulav, chapati, parantha etc. Hope you will like it.

Namkeen Sewaiyan/ Sewai Upma/ Savory Vermicelli

Namkeen Sewaiyan/
Sewai Upma/
Savory Vermicelli
Hi Friends,
Days are so lazy now. Hot summers are making us mad. its just starting of may and its really hot in Delhi, God knows what would happen in June. These days its horrible to work in kitchen. I am always looking for easy and quick recipes. I made these sewaiyan few days back. It took me hardly 15 minutes to make it. Actually i made them few months back and nobody liked them. Actually earlier my vermicelli came out very sticky and it was more like khichadi. Kids had it half heartily. My family like only sweet vermicelli. Though i like salty version of it i stopped making it.
But few days back i tasted salted version which my sister made. I liked that very much and thought to give it a try. I made it her way and yes my kids liked it. She use to boil vermicelli separately like we do for noodles. Its prevent them from sticking. This way it came out more delicious and fluffy like rice. Try this method guys you will also like it.

Ingredients:-

Vermicelli- 1 cup (I used roasted)
Onion - 1 small
Tomato- 1 small
Mustered seeds-1 tsp
Chat Masala- 1 tsp
Coriander Pdr-1 tsp
Red chilly powder-1 tsp
Salt- as per your taste

Method:-
Ingredients

Heat 3 cups water in a vessel

Add vermicelli

Boil for one minute

Drain water and run them under water

 Let them dry

 2 tsp oil in kadai

crackle coriander seeds in it

add tomato and onion

Saute for few seconds

Add boiled vermicelli and mix well

add all spices

Mix Well

cook for more 1-2 minute

READY

SERVE

HAVE SOME

Notes:-
  1. I have used roasted vermicelli, you can take normal vermicelli and roast in 1 tsp oil and then proceed with the process.
  2. Boiling vermicelli separately will prevent it from sticking.
  3. Don't over boil vermicelli otherwise it will go mushy. Boil it only 70%, it will be cooked fully when added in seasoning.
  4. You can make this upma without onion and tomato or use either of them.
  5. You can add your favorite veggies to make it more healthy.

MANGO JUICE/ HOW TO MAKE MAAZA/FRUITY AT HOME

MANGO JUICE/
HOW TO MAKE MAAZA/FROOTI AT HOME
Hi Friends,
I hope in every family there is one person (especially kids) who loves Maaza/frooti/Slice etc. These are mango based drinks and really yummy. I also love them. But when it comes to kids its very hard to come back from a store without small fruity pack. Kids really enjoy them but what about the preservatives? I always try to replica market food in home made food. After searching so many blogs suddenly noticed the title on sharmi's blog mango juice/maaza and immediately i decided to make that. Very next day i tried this delicious healthy drink and it came out just like store bought one though i didn't added sugar in it. If you like to taste it just like store bought one then increase sugar and use less water.
It will take hardly 5-7 minutes to make this drink. You can make it in advance and keep in fridge or freeze them in ice trays for further use. Great for unexpected guests and kids parties. Try it guys and give your kids this drink and they will be surprise that why mammy is asking us to take more and more.

Ingredients:-
Ripe Mangoes - 2
Honey/Sugar - 2 tbsp (refer notes)
Cardamom- 3
Cold/chilled water - 4 glasses
Ice - as required

Method:-

Please refer ingredient list as i forgot to take pic of ingredients
(I used only mango, water and ice)
Peel and Chop Mangoes

Take them in a grinder/blender
(you can add sugar here, i didn't added)

Break the cardamom and take out seeds and add in

Now turn them in fine puree

Add water and once again give it a whiz

Add ice and Serve
you can strain it at this point but i avoided doing that

WOOOOOOOW YUMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Inviting
Nice bright yellow color

Notes:-
  1.  You can add sugar along with chopped mangoes in the grinder as after adding chilled water or ice sugar become less. So i will advise you to add more sugar or honey for sweetness.
  2. Adding Cardamom is purely optional.
  3. You can sieve the juice before pouring to the glass. I avoided that as i didn't felt like sieving them.
  4. You Can make it more thin/thick by adding more or less water.
