Apple Milk Shake/ Apple Shake/ Kids Special

Apple Milk Shake/
Apple Shake/
Kids Special
Hi Friends,
Another simple, healthy, quick and scrumptious recipe is here. I had lots of time banana, chikoo, strawberry, butterscotch shakes but never tried apple shake. I saw this on Sharmi's place, the color of shake tempted me so much to try it very next day. I made it at night and my kids finished it in no time and asked for more. I made this shake again in the morning for their breakfast , my family loved it very much.
The texture and taste of shake depends upon the variety of apples you use. I used Granny smith apples which were green, tart a bit and firm. I used bit of sugar for sweetness but if apples are sweet enough then you can skip sugar for more healthier version or you can also use honey. You can enjoy it any time of the day as per your liking. Its a good option for health conscious or who are trying to lose some inches and a very good option of kids parties, even adults will enjoy it. It worth trying.

Ingredients:-

Apple - 2 chopped
Cinnamon- 1 stick
Milk - 2 cups
Rose/ Vanilla Essence- few drops
Sugar - 1-2 tsp

Method:-

Peel and chop apples

Break cinnamon sticks

put everything in a grinder

grind it

Add more milk and grind again

Ready to serve

Sooooooooo Tasty

Notes:-

  1. You can use cinnamon pdr instead of whole cinnamon.
  2. You can play with the flavors of your choice like you can use cardamom/vanilla/rose etc.
  3. Serve immediately or chill for some time. Use chilled milk for instant version.

Dry Fruit Delight

Dry Fruit delight
Hi Friends,
Today I am here with a very simple and amazing dish. Actually i bought dry fruits for my kids. I tried to gave them in all forms possible to let them eat and now i am doing experiment with the different mix and matches possible to make them attractive. As kids and hubby are bored with same stuff. So this time i tried to make them bit different and yes they liked that change. You can serve them to your kids with milk/juice/curd/soup or to your dear hubby with juice or with their protein shake. Choice is yours. I used only dry fruits in this recipe but you can try seeds, dried fruits, nuts etc as per your choice. So here we go with the recipe.

Ingredients:-
Almonds- 2 tbsp
Cashew - 1 tbsp
Walnut- 1tbsp
Cinnamon Pdr - 1/4 tsp
Honey 1 tbsp
Oil /ghee - 1 tbsp

Method:-
Gather your ingredients

Now heat oil/ghee in a pan

 fry almonds

Then Cashews

Both Done

Break walnuts in pieces )don't fry them)

All Done

Now take them in a bowl

Sprinkle cinnamon pdr and toss well

Now add honey

Toss well for few minutes

DONE

Serve with juice/Milk/Salad/Soup

OR Just have it as it is

Notes:-
  1. I did it first time so i used only dry fruits. You can use seeds, dried fruits, fruits, nuts etc. as per your choice.
  2. I thought dry fruits become soggy after few hours but it remained crunchy even next day.
  3. You can add them in salads/desserts/yogurt etc.

Stuffed Bun/Bharwa Pav

Stuffed Bun/Bharwa Pav
Hi Friends,
I am here with one more baking recipe. I baked few buns just as trial few months back and they came out really good. My son was demanding since then and somehow i was not able to bake them. Then few days back i determined to make them. Last Sunday i baked them and they came out so soothing and scrumptious. As my kids and I don't like much spices it was just perfect for us. My son enjoyed them a lot and he made my day by saying 'wow mammy you made so delicious bun'. I made 2 dough and 2 fillings (one for kids and me second for husband). I made bit change also. That bit change made these buns more scrumptious. To see that change go through the recipe. Try them that way and feel the difference. Its a long post so get some free time to go through. If you know how to make the dough for bun then skip dough part, start from making filling, from there difference will start. So please go through whole post. Do not miss anything. Try it and let me know what your kiddie said.

Ingredients:-
For Dough
APF (Maida) - 3 cups
Sugar             - 1 tsp
Salt                - 1/2 tsp
Yeast             - 1 tsp
Warm Water - as per needed to make dough

For Filling
Paneer/Cottage Cheese - half cup mashed
Potato  - 1 medium boiled and mashed
Cumin Seeds  - 1/2 tsp
Oregano- 1/2 tsp
Chilly Flakes - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 1/4 tsp

For Mixing in Dough
Cinnamon- 1/4 tsp
Oregano - 1/2 tsp
Salt  - 1/4 tsp

Recipe:-
Gather your ingredients
For Dough
For Filling

Start with making dough
Take one cup warm water and mix sugar and salt in it

Now add yeast ans stir once and leave it for 10 min

After 10 min

Take flour in a wide bowl and make a well in it

Now add your yeast and mix well

adding more water make a dough (knead for atleast 5 min)

Grease a big bowl and adjust your dough in that

Cover and leave for fermentation for 3-4 hours
(in summery areas it takes hardly one hour)

Now after 3-4 hours start with making filling

Take one tsp oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, let them crackle

Now add mashed paneer and potato
 mix well

after few seconds add oregano salt and cinnamon pdr
Mix Well

Cover and cook for 15 seconds

NOW ITS READY TO USE
(Left side without chilly flakes for me and kids, right side with chilly for hubby)

Now take your dough out
see its double in size

Punch it down and knead it for 5 min

Now the difference starts
Take salt in your hand and start kneading the dough to mix it properly

Now flat the dough with hand and sprinkle cinnamon and oregano

Again Mix Well (after making i divided it in two)

Added chilly flakes for hubby

So two different dough are ready

Take a lemon sixe ball out of the dough and make it flat
(i did it with hand u can use rolling pin)

Keep some filling in the centre

Close from all sides

With help of the hand make a bun shape

Do same with rest of the dough and filling
Now arrange them in greased pan and leave for 20 min

               With Chilly                        Without Chilly

After 20 min Ready to bake

Heat you over (my cooker for 5 min on high flame)
This time i used salt instead of sand

Keep your container in it and bake for 25 min on slow flame

Take them out of the oven and brush with oil

SERVE

My son had it with milk

and my daughter with sauce

Notes:-
  1. Be careful with the salt in filling and dough, adjust accordingly as both should not be equally salty. they will take bitter.
  2. It was my idea to use spices in dough as well as in filling. So i adjusted accordingly.
  3. Add your favorite spices in filling. For us it was perfect.
  4. Use your choice of filling.
