Bread Gulab Jamun/
Bread Sweet/
Bread Jamun/
Quick Gulab Jamun
Hi Friends,
One more sweet dish. Since i have seen Bread jamuns at so many blogs and mentioning that these are so easy to make and taste awesome. I kept on thinking about this recipe as i have seen people trying gulab jamun authentic way with paneer and khoya and it was quite laborious to make it this way. So i was eager to try this version of jamuns.
Finally on Saturday night i saw few bread pieces of brown bread left on the pantry shelf and i immediately decided to try my hands on it. Its a such a easy peasy recipe. It took me hardly 20-25 minutes to make these jamuns, only time consuming part was soaking them in sugar syrup which was almost 2 hours. But the result was so amazing. You can't tell the difference in normal khoya gulab jamuns and these bread jamuns. Make it for parties or on festivals as per your wish. One thing i bet is everybody will like it and nobody will recognize that these are bread jamuns.

Ingredients:-

Bread - 5 pieces (any brown/milk/white)
Milk- 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water-1 cup
Cardamom- 3-4

Method:-
Ingredients for the scrumptious jamuns

Cut edges of bread

Dip bread in milk for 2 seconds

take it out

squeeze all milk

do it with all breads and keep it aside

tip them in a grinder

Grind for few seconds

 add a portion of it

roll it in round shape

ALL DONE

Heat oil in a oil

try one by dropping one jamun in it

Beautifully fried jamun

DONE

All Done

Heat sugar+water+cardamom

Boil it for 5 minutes on high flame

Then add fried jamuns and boil for one minute

Now leave them like this

ENJOYYYYYYYY

Notes:-

  1. It is necessary to run squeezed bread pieces in a mixer.
  2. Make firm balls out of the squeezed and grinded bread.
  3. While frying gulab jamuns, don't touch with any ladle, rotate the kadai/pan.
  4. Don't boil gulab jamuns in sugar syrup too much 1-2 minutes are enough.

Chidwa/Poha Savory Snack/ Poha/Chidwa Namkeen/ Beaten Riice Savory Snack/ Tea Time Snack

Chidwa/Poha Savory Snack/
Poha/Chidwa Namkeen/
Beaten Riice Savory Snack/
Tea Time Snack
Hi Friends,
I am here with a savory Diwali recipe which i made so many times and concluded that If you like chidwa then making it simple is the best way to enjoy it. And i think adding peanuts in chidwa is the best combo we can have. You can play with other variations too. This is so easy to make but you need to be bit careful while dry frying/roasting chidwa. Otherwise its breeze to make this savory snack at home.
I make it at night as my brother and sister -in-law was suppose to come next day. I made two types of snacks. One was normal mixture with puffed rice including 2-3 kind of things and this one was simple. They like this one more as it was simple but bit spicy. Kids also liked it very much. Whole batch was finished on the spot.
You can prepare it for parties or get together. You can prepare it 1-2 days before and store for later use. My sister took it to her office for tea time snack.  You can keep it for 5-6 days in airtight container. But i can bet that it will not last that much longer.

Ingredients:-

Poha/Chidwa/Bbeaten Rice- 2 cups
Peanuts- 2 tbsp
Roasted Gram Daal-1 tbsp (optional, i added it at last)
Red Chilly Pdr- 1/2 tsp
Amchoor/Chaat masala-1 tsp
Turmeric- 1/4 tsp
Salt- as per your taste

Method:-
Take your ingredients

I added few spices later so use these spices

Dry roast peanuts in a pan

when they be raosted well and become crispy

remove them

 remove the skin

now dry roast chidwa/poha on slow flame

see it fluffed up

it will take 2-3 minutes to make them crisp

 remove it in a plate

add peanuts

heat 2-3 tsp oil in a wide kadai/pan

add all spices at once and mix quickly

add roasted poha+peanuts and mix quickly
so that spices coat the whole poha

keep on stirring and mixing for 1 minute

remove in a plate and let it cool down

READY TO SERVE

 HAVE SOME

Notes:-

  1. Dry roast poha/chidwa on low flame otherwise it will not be crispy and can get burn easily.
  2. You can add roasted gram daal or fried coconut pieces as per your liking but i wanted chidwa/poha taste dominating so didn't added much things in it.
  3. You can add mustered seeds and curry leaves while tempering.  i kept it simple.
  4. After preparing it let it cool down completely then store in an airtight container.
